wilkommen in münster

im now writing from the little town of münster, germany ((:
its been a loonngg journey here. 13 hours of plane ride, plus a quick transit to a 4 hour train ride, before getting driven to our home sweet home for the next 3 weeks
the weather here is purrrrfect. who's gonna complain with natural aircon and dry climate?
though a little colder than i expected, due to the stormy weather this week
but temperatures are still tolerable, from about 8-21 deg (:

so the first day in germany was spent mainly traveling from place to place
i've uploaded a few pics for those who've been asking me NONSTOP to do so :P hahahaha
this part of the country is really beautiful. together with the cool weather its just heaven.

we passed many rivers while on the train, including the rhine river, and the aasee river


they were just amazingg.

finally, my room for the next 3 weeks (:

really very pretty, with internet access and my own private bathroom (:
its cool and cozy

we're staying with familie lührs, and their house is BEAUTIFULLL. seriously.
its a typical german suburban house, that encompasses both modernity and a tinge of country-side style
built completely from scratch by the man of the house (:
including this awesome garden:

i really love it here (:

last but not least, we've been "given" each a bike

which will be our main transportation (other than the car) for the next 3 weeks

during dinner with the family at some really nice arabian restaurant
they told us that, in the small city of only 350,000, there are 700,000 bikes around
guess i'll be biking a lot these few days (: hahaha

its sometimes rather amazing how fast news travel.
or perhaps, its just one of those things that warm, close-knitted communities do
whatever reason it is, i just feel so blessed and loved (:

we went to JUMBO for chilli crab woooots (:
it was so good i just knew the crabs didnt die in vain.

i've got 5 days left, but soo many things i have to doo!
it really sucks that i'm flying off so soon. just 10days after exams
i still wanna playyyyyy :(

days of yore

its hard to believe that its only been 5 days since my exams had finished
i've had more fun in the past few days than my whole semester combined that exams have been comfortably chucked into the deepest darkest end of my memory bank (:
thats where it belongs.

the past few days have been well-spent (in my humble opinion)
from night drives/cruises, to late night supper, to exploring new places that i've never been to
we even drove up bukit timah hill and saw many cars with newspaper/cloth-covered windows with people in them gee i wonder what they're doing

i watched spiderman3 too! although only halfway since something cropped up in the middle of the movie :(
but it was pretty good while it lasted. tho i heard it was pretty draggy towards the end

anw. today was ritchell's birthday celebration! (:
we went to kenny rogers for dinner, and i finally had the omg-its-so-good ribs.
had a nice time catching up with everyone this was like our first rumbo outing this sem wooots

sentosa

with so much free time on my hands suddenly, the thing i did to fully utilize that time was to - SLEEP
its nice to be able to just laze around, agendaless, not having to go 90miles an hour all the time
not having to do in itself, is something to do! (:

and then.. SENTOSA!


we wanted to go for the minigolf, but it was closed. GAH.
so we went to the dolphin lagoon! my first time there.

we also went to underwater world!! (: i havent been there since i secondary sch i think

i like the great whites in melbourne (:

alright. and you cant leave sentosa without a trip to beach and poses by the coconut tree

today was an absolutely fine day. just look at that fine weather.


yes, it was perfect (:

rendezvous

for a moment there i thought i've ended exams already.
because i'm already going out as if my summer holidays have begun
reality check: i still have ONE more paper left -.-

on the bright side, today's microecons paper made me reallyyy happy (:
for the first time, i was able to complete every single question
prolly cuz the paper was easyy.
that'll prolly shift the entire bell curve upwards, but whocares it was a total morale booster (:

so after the happy exam, mac and i decided to go out for some pre-postexam fun (:
we went to vivocity, and caught sunshine.
BUT. as it turns out, "sunshine" tops my top 10 blacklisted movies
it was soo boring i wish i had a remote to fastforward the show
the lines were cheeesy and anti climax, like:
[all of the crew gathered together after a crash]"but, the fact is.... we're still alive!" -.-
the only redeeming factor seemed to be that relatively cute guy (whats his name?) who died near the end
i stopped watching after that.

anyhow. the view outside vivocity is magnificent, esp at sunset!





we managed to catch the sunset because we wanted to "thaw" from the cold within the mall


here's us, and although mac looks like he doesnt have a nose, i swear, he does! (:

other than the sunset, we managed to catch debfung's concert at esplanade too (:
it was like a little publicity concert for her new album, but it was very nice and relaxing
her songs were sort of like a cross between corrine may and female alter-bridge haha
a conglomeration of jazz, country, gospel, and a little soft rock.

8 days

like yihong said, exams havent started, but they're going to be ending in 8 days (:
(all of you who end before that, you have a right to maintain silent)

anyway. met up with denis and yihong today to study for econs
we crammed ourselves into the small econs society room, which conveniently turned off its own aircon by the time i reached school gahhhhh
but we still managed to study till like 10 before going to macs for dinner (:
i think i narrowed my stupidity trap by a little hee~

today i was completely zonked out at church.
i havent felt this totally zoned and tired for a really long time
we had a combined fellowship with the older youths, and did a pictorial elaboration of parables
this was our parable of the lost sheep in 15 minutes:

the sheep were completely toilet paper, and the figurines scavanged from the nursery room
for the benefit of the non-christians, this is the wikipedia quick overview of what the parable dictates:

so the weekends are over. and they were - completely unproductive
went to watch 'fracture' with mac on saturday. and windowshopping (:


i thought fracture sucked, but mac thot it was good.
but its still a 6/10 on the joy-o-meter (: ******
it ties in very nicely with the misperception theory.
i expected much more from the movie, and i got a lesser version of it
and hence, i was pretty much in 'recession' throughout the movie.
ta-da. application of economic concepts.

im on my way to becoming a nerd (: yayyy.

the last leg

i think i may be getting abs. at my upper abdominal area
not because i've been exercising, but because i've been coughing my lungs out like an old hag
a few days ago, i was grudgingly bestowed with my uninvited guest, the flu bug
who has given me not just fever, a bad sorethroat, but also blocked nose for the past few days
that, is in spite of the multiple bug-exterminator-pills that i've been popping.
what wonderful, perfect timing

anw. by god's miraculous miracles, mac's popped shoulder earned him 20 days of MC
not really anything too wonderful, but its a blessing in disguise after all (:
except.. it ends 3 days after my exams -.- gahhh.

i've been religiously trying to catch up with my study timetable for the past days, albeit unsuccessfully
gahh who keeps moving that finishing line!
but i guess i should be glad there've been still no exploded landmines on my face as of now
its exactly 12 days away from the dawn of summerbreakk.
so i'm gritting my teeth, and sprinting this last run towards... FREEDOM!!
