im a "bally in the making"sighh. means im growing fatt haha.

tis true. with the amount of good food and barbeque-food im wolfing down.. i'll really become a ball soon.

the past week has been one thats been really awesome. especially in the gourmet aspect :p

i just had crystal jade ytd with the 87ers before going to settlers cafe for crazy games (: and had loads of xlbs (celine im using your word)

the games there were hilarious - seriously i laughed till i couldnt really talk properly that night lol

met up with seok and cherie today for gelare waffles! (:
havent seen them for soooo long.
unfortchantely all of us were super tired for one reason or another haha, esp muay thai girl
but it was a very nice time catching up.

i've been helping out with the german society booth @ matric fair as well with janice (:

its a pretty monotonous and mundane task to force flyers into the faces of freshmen, but i met soo many friends new and old alike there that it was more like a social activity than the actual thing itself (:

i signed up for quite a number of activities and joined quite a number of societies - no thanks to the active toutings

but they're something to look forward to (: im going to learn archery with nat, huikai and janice (:

how cool is that.

on sunday we had our games + bbq at lide's house with the 1520 youthgrp (: and it was a BLAST!

we even had a personal chef isaac to cook the food for us. it was probably the BEST bbq i've ever been to (:

okay we did have to play silly station games, like lifting team mates up to munch on dangling apples

but to give it due credit... it was quite fun lahhhh :p

saturday i met up with mac to watch "knocked up", which is a rather plain-jane show that focused more on glorifying childbirth than on the comic effect and the ever-common trend of premarital pregnancy

but for all its worth, seth rogen was funny for some parts, and paul rudd looked pretty hot :P

anyway, i met up with my ACclassmates after the movie @ timbre (:

everyone's "samesame, but different" somehow, but it felt really nice to see everybody!

the band was good too, albeit too loud for catching up and talking

[im getting tired]

friday - i went over to mac's to see the final product of extreme makeover (home edition)

and it was pretty pretty! i give it an 8/10 (:

thursday - we had rajoo chalet + bbq (: ok i went late for it again.. HEE

but i had a really great time at the bbq. good food, good company, AND good music!

for details read sharon&elaine's blog, but the highlights were when shamir serenaded us with his guitar and singing

(which were reallyyy good i have to say)

he attempted to teach elaine and i some basics. but, i guess we have a long way to go :p

it was also pretty funny when we attempted to waddle in the pool @ midnight but ended up getting chased away by the guard

or when we blew plastic balloons and smashed it into other people's faces

or hear people talk in familiar yet unfamiliar msn language like "ttyl" - "tetylll"

im glad i went for it haha i almost didnt go!

anyway, thats all from me. its quite a long post for once!

renovation day #1

i have officially diagnosed myself with "start-of-life-crisis"
yes, people have mid-life crisis, and theres even end-life crisis. and i have the beginning of it all
theres no other way of explaining these things i feel, these problems i face
im surrounded by many people, and yet i feel so alone at times
watching the world go by, a mere observer confounded by the inability to participate
its like im trapped in a glass world of my own - i cant find a way out
im tired of being a shapeshifter. i just want to be myself. i want to be ME.
wont you let me be..?

but perhaps, all of this can be good.
maybe its because of this suffocation that inspires change
the element that kickstarts the gears of transformation
maybe it is this that will melt the ice, and strip me down to just pure me
to bring me back into reality

today i went to mac's house to give him an extra pair of hands in his room revamp
all the furniture arrived at once today, and filled his whole room with so many boxes
it really felt as if he moved house or something. hmm, nice (:

and then we began hammering, fixing, and assembling (:



the final product's not up yet, but im still really proud of us (:


my hands are a little sore from lugging and hammering wood, but i really like fixing up furniture!
makes me feel really handy, and kinda reminds me of the lego-period
(yes, i was a lego-kid)

im back in the lil sunny island called home (:
been a rather busy 3 days, with loads of catching up and whatnots.

on saturday mac&i went to ikea to shop for furniture for his new room (:
its so exciting i love how ikea makes me feel. maybe its all that wood.
ok no, its the prospect of creating a new room all by yourself thats exciting. all that wood..
ok, and maybe because carpark is so bloody cheap there im happy to dwell forever there (:
whatever it is, we bought all the furniture required for the revamp! woots.
a new room, coming right up! (:

the aircon's really cold in my room. its like at a constant 22deg or something
its so cold i have a really have a hard time leaving the warm embrace of my quilt each morning for work

its a pretty nice place i must say, and just 3 min walk from my workplace!

speaking of which..

this is my pigeonhole/rat's nest, also my work station where i work at most of the time
and while im at it, wireless internet HAS to be the best thing since the invention of sandwiches (:


the teenyweeny meeting room where i spend my hours utterly confused and amazed by business talk


and the plant next to my window which must be tired of me staring at it by now.

just to let you have an idea of the good food that has been accused of making me fat,

here's just a little still that i managed to capture when i rmb to bring my camera out (:
it was at this restaurant by the bund, which is the whole stretch of colonial buildings that were restored to become a very high-class and posh street of retail and restaurants (: absolutely beautiful.


this is one of the silk shops where i've been shopping at
the products there are made of very fine silk, hand-sewn and intricately designed!
we bought pillow cases, makeup pouches, bags, all made by this shop

thats about it for now. havent been taking a lot of pictures cuz im just too lazy to lug an SLR around the whole day
now i miss my exilim :( very very much indeed.
im still waiting to claim insurance for my very kaputt kamera. (HUIKAII!!!)

BUT. im so excited about going home in 2 days! (:

a week in shanghai

being bored at work has never really been an issue for me
as temp staff or internee you usually find yourself bored out of your wits doing mundane tasks
or in the case, attending meetings and trying to understand the corporate world and its related businesses

but being real frustrated and irritated at work is something that requires more to deal with
my work here is just about kicking me out of a plane with a parachute without teaching me how to deploy it;
or like plucking me from land and dumping me into the sea with no knowledge of how to swim
or so on and so on.. you get the idea.
right now im doing research for an american firm in shanghai as an internee, but i really have no idea how to even start
i've tried many ways and directions, but it all seem to bring me to one dead futile end
i know its prolly my job to keep trying, but perhaps some information are never meant to be found
and its just so damn frustrating to keep hitting the same pt after trying so hard
not to mention, reading everything from chinese and trying to make sense of it all
im just perhaps a little lost and out of my mind

damn, i need a hell of a GPS now..



other than that, things here are pretty a-okay. especially the shopping trip yesterday (:
jane (my dad's assistant) and i spent the entire day out on the streets of shanghai
on one and only mission to fulfil prescribed retail therapy treatment
and it was one great success (: [that is, keeping my eyes closed on the RMB spent]

met up with lynn a few days ago as well to shop and dine at zhengda guangchang (:
it was a great time catching up and all, but it was pretty scary at the end when we cldnt find a cab home
because everybody gushed out of the mall at the same time and started snatching cabs
there were even a few guys who were beating up this cab driver in front of all of us
but then again, some cab drivers really deserve it.
they wont stop for customers, unless you offer them a high price that satisfies them
so there was sort of a blackmarket or cartel or whatever u call it there
and i had to spend 60RMB to get home, when it cld easily have been just 10RMB
GARHHHH.

4 more days till home sweet home....
i cant wait (:

we had a very nice time during dinner ytd at blooie's for our pre celebration(:
just a nice night of pasta, burgers, and bbq chicken, coupled with good mix of house pours.
there was even oldschool love songs playing on the mix
for the actual birthday dinner today we ate at sakae dining. loads of good food too (:
so all in all, it was.. purrfect (:

anyway. another person i hearts a lot too is celine tan!!
we went shopping on thursday before meeting lide for transformers (:
she got me in such a shopping frenzy. but we're living testimony of how retail therapy works hee :P
thankgod im going to shanghai soon. lynn's gonna bring me shopping there woohoo!

i've been really slacking a lot, and watching loads of movies and teevee
friday was spent at my boy's place, watching lots of teevee and couch-potatoing (:
then saturday, mac came over to my place and we watched 200 pound beauty!

reading janice's blog really got me missing germany alot
it just seems like this very merry dream that i wanna live in forever
perhaps its just the whole idea of being able to live this carefree careless life
of strawberry fields, wild daisies, and just the cool wind in your face
where you know everything everyday will be beautiful and fun. just because.

and i really do miss janice as my housemate too :(
having her (annoying) alarm clock wake us up every morning
or springing up to see the thermostat the minute we wake up
or groaning when the temperature falls below 10, and cheering when its above 15
or making breakfast in the beautiful kitchen, giggling at the family of wild rabbit living in the garden
and even the mad 100meter dash to the bus stop just so we can catch the bus that arrives at 826am SHARP.




it is through the eyes of such beautiful creation, that you see the work of God and His creations
and all you are capable of doing is to marvel in awe and give thanks (:

anyway, the past week's been filled with crazy cheering, late nights, and truckloads of fun
arts camp 07 started with a bang, and also closed with one (:
im soo proud of our OG for winning the best OG in rumpa, and even more so for how the freshmen bonded so perfectly

its been a really awesome time to get to know people, both fresh and oldies :P
and im glad to announce.. i have a second plate of memories to keep safe in my memory box now!

another day goes by..

for today, it suddenly feels as if my loongg holiday has finally come to an end
it seems a little like those snap-back-to-reality days, where the good things reach its crossroads
tmr marks the start of arts camp day zero, and also perhaps the start of reality

but this week has been a real blast while it lasted
it has been filled of days with glorious laughter and neverending fun

of the sun, the sea, and the sky..
when i brought ginger to sentosa with me to meet the beach girls (:
a nice day of tanning, girltalk, swimming, and all that


of meeting up with old friends, and watching (bad) movies.. HEE :P
of barbeques by the sea, of late night chatting by the sea under the moonlight


of sleepovers, late night supper, and just driving around through the night
of basking in german and german nights :P
met up with the "german-singaporeans" yesterday for bowling, cycling, swimming & the BBQ
we had sooo much food prepared it was heaven. twas wayy better than the bbq we prepared in germany
i reckon i ate about 2kg worth of food, right before i plunged into the pool
oh that bliss..

thursday

lide took leave, so we went out to watch ocean's 13! (:
ok i fell asleep through some parts of it >.<
considering i didnt watch 11 & 12, AND we missed the start of the show,
i was pretty lost through half of the movie sighh.
after the movie we met the 87ers for dinner at marina bay country club!!

forgot to take pictures of the lovely place though
one of abel's many hideouts hahaha.

friday

mac took mc, so i went over to his place to chill and watch dvds!
then we drove to expo for the planet shaker's concert at night with regi

planet shakers was good, but the sermon wasnt, in my opinion

pastor joseph prince takes on a rather different approach to sharing and giving sermons

idk if its just me, but his sermon that night tended more towards self than God

the things he said were stuff i cldnt really swallow, esp the way he approached alter calling
mac and i left early as a result, to have dinner at changi airport! (:

lide's birthday dinner with the 87ers at keppel club!
the view was fantastic, right next to the sea! another one of abel's hideouts :P

lide and i drove around aimlessly after that to kill time till supper
and took loads of pictures in the car hahaha

anyway. today marked the piggiest day of my life. i slept through the entire day

no thanks to food poisoning and a stomach that threatened to merlion every now and then
also, fever that kept me off my feet and sleeping like some old lady

i think i've never been so sick in my life sighhh.
