another day goes by..

for today, it suddenly feels as if my loongg holiday has finally come to an end
it seems a little like those snap-back-to-reality days, where the good things reach its crossroads
tmr marks the start of arts camp day zero, and also perhaps the start of reality

but this week has been a real blast while it lasted
it has been filled of days with glorious laughter and neverending fun

of the sun, the sea, and the sky..
when i brought ginger to sentosa with me to meet the beach girls (:
a nice day of tanning, girltalk, swimming, and all that


of meeting up with old friends, and watching (bad) movies.. HEE :P
of barbeques by the sea, of late night chatting by the sea under the moonlight


of sleepovers, late night supper, and just driving around through the night
of basking in german and german nights :P
met up with the "german-singaporeans" yesterday for bowling, cycling, swimming & the BBQ
we had sooo much food prepared it was heaven. twas wayy better than the bbq we prepared in germany
i reckon i ate about 2kg worth of food, right before i plunged into the pool
oh that bliss..

all in a week's work

ok first things first...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAY LIDE!!

its been 9 years since i've known you, and its amazing how our friendship has blossomed over these times
you've been there for me for as long as i can remember, and will always be the first few people i'll turn to whenever theres anything
thanks for being my safety net for all these years, and for being such a good bestie (:

anyway, here's my week in a few short sentences:

thursday

lide took leave, so we went out to watch ocean's 13! (:
ok i fell asleep through some parts of it >.<
considering i didnt watch 11 & 12, AND we missed the start of the show,
i was pretty lost through half of the movie sighh.
after the movie we met the 87ers for dinner at marina bay country club!!

forgot to take pictures of the lovely place though
one of abel's many hideouts hahaha.

friday

mac took mc, so i went over to his place to chill and watch dvds!
then we drove to expo for the planet shaker's concert at night with regi

planet shakers was good, but the sermon wasnt, in my opinion

pastor joseph prince takes on a rather different approach to sharing and giving sermons

idk if its just me, but his sermon that night tended more towards self than God

the things he said were stuff i cldnt really swallow, esp the way he approached alter calling
mac and i left early as a result, to have dinner at changi airport! (:

saturday

lide's birthday dinner with the 87ers at keppel club!
the view was fantastic, right next to the sea! another one of abel's hideouts :P

lide and i drove around aimlessly after that to kill time till supper
and took loads of pictures in the car hahaha

anyway. today marked the piggiest day of my life. i slept through the entire day

no thanks to food poisoning and a stomach that threatened to merlion every now and then
also, fever that kept me off my feet and sleeping like some old lady

i think i've never been so sick in my life sighhh.

hope all gets better tmr (:

a little bit more..

i've tried to start this entry a million times, and i cant figure out what it is i want to say
sometimes when i look at the past, at what has happened in the past week,
it all blurs into a 'wow-did-that-really-happen', a rather chaotic myriad of faded memories or dreams

anyhow. some overdued pictures from last week.
first up, our ice-skating pictures..

then on saturday, lide and i went for joshua's and guanhow's commissioning parade (:
"waa so handsome.." hahaha


but it was really quite grand. much better than the previous one i went to last time
the event was sposed to start at about 6pm, we arrived @ SAFTI past 4pm, and there were no seats left!
all those kanchiong friends and parents bagging seats for everybody gahhh.
but we got front-row seats thanks to a little squeezing in the end so its all good (:

anyway. the past few days have been spent in arts pre-camp.
trying out the programs and playing the games like freshmen, getting to know more people and people more (:
its been really quite fun, but also really DAMN tiring
we were at sentosa for the whole of ytd playing beach games, and i've got this real ugly tanline
sentosa's actually pretty nice now, with all its new renovations and attractions
its so good, that im gonna go back there next week to visit! (:

mac came over today for our stay-in night of dinner and movie (:
we rented pearl harbor, because that poor boy hasnt watched it before!! =p
good food, and good company (:

ok i think i need catchupsleep :(
(although theres no such thing as sleep accumulation)

fields of gold

this week has been pretty hectic, with so much adjusting and things to do
alot of us seem to be still wired to a german language channel
its actually quite hard to switch between languages, esp after u've been immersed in one completely for a period of time
what results is a fusion between english and german, which is pretty hilarious to those who comprehend the struggle

ja gut. so...
wednesday
i met up with our dearly beloved "german-singaporeans" for ice-skating (:
present at the skating ring that day was a horrendous amount of kids, rowdy and unstable alike
the end result: joy with a very wet and painful po-po
because i fell into icy puddles twice, no thanks to speeding skaters with no sense of direction
for dinner i met up with lide, who treated me to a nice dinner at curry favor!!
twas my first time there, and i brought with me a very wet butt and a heavy appetite
but all's well that ends well. japanese food was a welcomed change from pasta & lasagne and whatnots

thursday
a trip to east coast to relive the cycling memories in germany! muahaha
but it just feels different cycling like a goldfish swimming in a tank from one end to the other
as compared to when biking was a main form of transportation.
the absence of a sole purpose seems to render less importance in a strange and weird way
anyway, i met up with mac finally on thursday too (:
the poor boy had to sit through my 2hour photo-tour (i have about 2000 pictures in my laptop)

friday
i met up with sarah for lunch at blooies!! (: yayyy. its been a loonggg time since we've caught up
we really should do this more often. i had a really really nice time (:
haha then a bunch of us went to chill at simin's place, for a nice time of games + baileys
my kind friends offered me 1/3of a shot only because i was driving though :(
drove down to town for dinner with mac and to watch pirates of the caribbean with janice&elvin!
quite a nice show, albeit a little too draggy that i fell aslp at some parts :p
but while i was awake, jacksparrow was as funny as ever.

im back in the sunny island of singapore, which rolled out the welcome wagon for me with a sweltering 29deg celsius
ok its not too bad, only 0.09% of me has melted away but its fine (:
we celebrated my sister's birthday @ cafecartel, allowing me my first bananacaramelwaffle in a loonngg while.

Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place

missing germany terribly. missing münster even more. especially vorländerweg, home sweet home
but its great to be back. feeling all refreshed, recharged, and rejuvenated.

just a day or two, or maybe an hour or two more.

just so i can say goodbye

to the trees in those beautiful forests, to the sun that sets at 10pm,

to the flowers blossoming so gorgeously in the gardens,

to the bicycles sitting out now in the dark

to the rivers that carried our weight on boats

to the farms that heard our laughter

to all the beautiful beautiful things in this country

just a little longer with them.. :(

dont wanna say goodbye

today commenced the last and final lesson we had in münster
we had our project presentation, and a farewell video presentation
its kinda sad how time flies soo quickly
although it was 3/4 of a month, but somehow it just didnt seem that long
as we near the end of this memory lane, i cant help but think about how all these would become just a dream
a really sweet and pleasant dream that will inevitably fade into the dark corners of memory
for all the good times and bad times we've had here, i've really had a wonderful time
it feels more like an extended holiday with my friends, who've come to become so close to me
traveling everywhere together on bikes, singing tunes through the fields,
watching the sun kiss the earth as it sets, enjoying the cool night winds
it was a wonderful, beautiful time spent here..
