had another short wedding rehearsal with zhic and kenneth, and mac as our audience after church((:
today's service was pretty thought-inducing. especially the after-service debate about annointment and being God's chosen people.
the reminder of God's grace and love for me (and us) is realy like finding living water amidst a drought.
it gave me a renewed passion that cannot be explained or described
the urge to live out the love that God has for us, and to spread this love to the people still in drought
i think i've found the spiritual rejuvenation i've been seeking and needing
because i'm brought back to You..

yes, we spent a lazy afternoon at the northern part of singapore (which is very much alien to me)
and watched chick flicks!! ((:
haha nah actually just one chick flick - "breaking up" (how very ironic)
but it was a really good typical romantic show, thats purrfect for a cozy afternoon like this
before that we met up (early in the morning) to have breakfast at ah mei kaya toast
which has really awesome toasts -stomach growls-
i love days like these haha ((:

school's starting in approximately 2 weeks.
really, im so not looking forward to it now.

dreaming of you

tonight was ernest's 19th birthday dinner!!
we went to sakura for the international buffet, and i swear, it was the most food i've ever eaten in my life.
there was food, glorious food everywhere, with tepanyaki, sushi, steamed dory fishes, shark's fin soup, scrumptious pastry deserts, icecream and free flow of drinks! ((:
yes, i attempted to wolf down about a bit of everything to make my 26 dollars worth its value.
and also to attempt to step into the guys' world of over-eating to see what it feels like


it was great, except for an over-filled over-bloated tummy right now..
but good food, good company ((:

so, advertising online (on some random ads page) really does work!
looks like im gonna b making trips to yew tee (again) every week now.. my familiar instant-noodle place

i ended up singing a string of songs (look, alliteration!) during driving revision lesson tdy wit the instructor
because the instructor was bored and hence requested for song entertainment
it was pretty entertaining and amusing, esp when half the time we cldnt complete the lyrics
"im flying without..." - turn left at the nxt junction - "wings"
or "raindrops keep falling on my..." - overtake the lorry - "head"

hmmm.

ytd i went shopping!! with emme (and sheila and lionel)
and amazingly we got better discounts and deals than GSS!! wooots.
i got stuff from dorothy perkins, zara, some unknown shop in fareast, and guess!
the best part is.. i only spent 70 bucks after rounding up ((: tan!!
cant wait till next week for shopping with SARAH LAI!! ((:

speaking of whom, i met up for movie and dinner on monday ((:
for a great time catching up, laughing at all the stupid things we did back in sch, and then adding more to the list =p
we watched hoodwinked, which is a "theme & variation" of lil red riding hood.
and i absolutely ADORE the squirrel

why do chalets have to be at the other end of the world and about 2 hours away from my place??!

it really sucks to have a nose thats running a marathon.
or watery eyes, or a sorethroat, or just coughing non-stop.
in short, it sucks to be sick.

this weekend has been declared family weekend (:
with bbq + badminton at my place on fri, and sentosa with the cousins n mac on sat!

and it has been FUN (:
thats javan and i, emme+seth+megan, emme and i, and emme+sheila+me!
the engs, the fans, the tays and the hoops combined can be pretty.. amusing.

yes, the past comes back to haunt you at one point or the other
and like i said to you, and to myself as well, the only comfort is knowing that theres something better ahead, and to look forward in anticipation of God's unconditional graces and love.
lots to give thanks for, and lots to be appreciative about.

'driving is therapeutic' - i totally agree.
the time when ur mind closes itself to everything else, and focuses solely on the road
(especially if u're a beginner driver like me)
100 minutes where all that matters is orientating the car in a fashion tt wld not result in immediate failure..

im baaaackk!! ((:
from union camp.
i think i clocked about 0-4 hours of sleep each day during camp.
and on the last day, i could fall aslp like this -snap fingers-
but, it was... DAMN FUN!!

the activities were pretty similar to arts camp - sentosa beach games, pool games, fright night
but it was the people who made the difference ((:
from playing dumb & stupid but fun games (ie. ouch obi obi)
to going up to the hall roof garden for supper, swings and bonding
to rolling in mud and paint together and getting hand prints on my ass during war games
to laughing at the idea of having a pageant only to get sabo-ed for it & then embarrassing myself thoroughly for it
to staying up the whole night on the long steps talking about everything on the last day of camp
i guess thats what really counted. the friendship and camaraderie

no pictures yet. cuz nobody uploaded their pictures!
gonna go catch up on lost sleep soon.
i know all that nonsense about how u cant make up for lost sleep
but all i can think of now is sleeeeppp zzz

update on our not-so-friendly enemy from yesterday - it has been officially disposed of in a white body bag (ie.NTUC plastic bag), and the ground which it died on thoroughly blasted with water to eradicate stains and memories.

thank god for dogs.

revelations

yes, at 2:43AM as it is now.. i have a revelation.
i am a pansy.

so i formulated this conclusion based on two observations.

1) the formidable encounter with the terrorizing cockroach in my living room!
(what on earth is a black flying cockroach with energizer energy doing on my living room walls at 2:43AM?!?!)
joy became a screaming freaked-out girl standing on a rolling chair with nothing but a soft pillow to arm her. and she declared WAR!!
with a little bit of difficulty at the beginning.
beacuse when i screamed for my doggie warriors, i realized they were sleeping at the back of the kitchen.
luckily the enemy decided to seek solace behind my piano then, and i made my way to the barracks and alerted my warriors of war.
i sent my brave soldiers out to the battlefield, where one watched gleefully while the other attempted to place its paw on the scurrying black entity.
after struggles and bloodshed (the enemy's) and warcries, victory was claimed.
my soldiers sat watch, while the enemy pretended to be dead by laying on its black shelled back.
thank God for stupidity, the enemy attempted to get up once it decided it was through playing dead.
AND. that was when our final battle was launched, and as of now, enemy appears dead for REAL.
hurray for the doggie warriors who i am eternally grateful for saving my life.

2) i did nothing at all.

with that, i shall adjourn to my bed for some duly needed rest.
