Today was one of those days where I could lay my head on a bench while seated on the floor and fall asleep with no cares in the world, because I just couldn’t keep my eyes opened any longer. So as I sat at ToaPayohCC’s badminton court and fell into a deep sleep (sweat, humidity, noise and all), I finally realized how ridiculously worn out I was over the past few days due to an incessant stream of activities that gave me no rest. Or rather, insufficient rest to clear any sleep debt accumulated in the past week.
Then again, today’s badminton was one of those you could call “intensive”, where we had 2 courts to the 7 of us, and many nonstop games that went on for more than 3 hours. We had singles, doubles, and triples (1 vs 2) interchangeably, and by the 3rd hour my body decided to transit into standby/hibernate mode, and I collapsed onto the benches as the guys continued waging their badminton wars.
True to the word incessant, mac and I rushed off for a quick shower at lide’s place after badminton, before picking my sister and heading to Keppel Club for a mother’s day dinner with the extended family + grandmother, unfortunately without my mother since she was overseas. It was a pretty decent dinner @ Jade Palace, what with crab-beehoon, peking duck rolls, herbal soups etc.
On the topic of good food, Turquoise Room is one for good food plus really awesome romantic ambience. Its gaining popularity ever since its appeared on hungrygowhere, and although I made reservations there for my mother’s day dinner treat my parents decided to surprise me with an overseas trip, hence depriving of my visit there. So you could imagine my delight when Sophia suggested we dined there on Saturday after band prac.
We ordered a banana-crumble-with-gelato for the 5 of us, and it was sooo good. One of the best crumbles I’ve ever had I would say; that we forgot to take a picture of it before it turned into this:
Friday was lunch with Sarah at Marmalade Pantry @ Holland Village (I did mention incessant, didn’t I). I had scrambled eggs with toast & sausage, while she had crab Caesar (drools), both of which were in oh-so-huge portions, half of which I generously but hesitantly returned to the waitress clearing our plates, because I just couldn’t eat anymore.
THEN, Friday night was games-dvd-baileys stayover night!
From guitar heroes…
to Wii!
(super funnyyy im loving bomberman)
Lastly, to end off the post, the cutest poster baby of the year:
Frank’s little angel (soooo cute)
